Welcome!

Welcome to WITsense101, a blog about WorkInTexas.com.

WorkInTexas.com (WIT) is a job matching system created and maintained by the Texas Workforce Commission, in cooperation with Texas Workforce Solutions.  It provides extensive job matching options based on skills and experiences, links to labor market and career development information, and is free and available online 24/7.

The purpose of this blog to create and maintain a conversation with WIT users.  We want to find out what you like and don’t like, what works and what doesn’t work, and to give you a chance to talk directly to the WIT project team.  We also want to use this space to clear up any misunderstandings, explain the reasons for some of the crazy things we do, and give you a chance to share your experiences with others.

We plan to post once or twice a week and will try to respond to questions and comments as needed, but keep in mind the purpose of this blog is to facilitate a conversation, not be a Q&A forum.  For additional information on how this blog operates, please see our blog policy for WIT which will be be posted here soon.

We look forward to talking with you.

The WIT Project Team

This is great. I am a Migrant Outreach worker and have a need for specific search that we currently do not have. Is there anyway that I can search WIT by address. Many MSFW’s are gone and many are not registered for many reasons. I would like to see if someone at that address is registered, so I can check the MSFW status.

I don’t think so. If your wanting to search for an employer you will need at least one of the following for Search: TWC Tax Account Number, FEIN, Employer ID, Job Posting ID, Employer Posting No., Employer User ID or Employer Name.
If your searching for job seekers you will need enter one of the following for Search: Job Seeker ID, TWIST ID, SSN, User ID, Phone, Email Address or First and Last Name.

    Hope this helps you.

There are a couple ways: Your company’s HR and/or Finance dept. should be able to give it to you; you can contact your nearest Workforce Solutions office and, upon verifying who you are and who you work for, they can look it up for you; or if you don’t already have a number, contact your nearest TWC Tax office to discuss. Contact info for both of these can be found here: http://www.twc.state.tx.us/twcinfo/contact-us.html
