Exactly one week ago today, mobile friendly WorkInTexas.com rolled out of the garage and hit the streets. It was a long time in the planning, a lot of work in the making, and delivered many smiles upon release. To that end I’d like to give a shout-out to the Workforce Solutions North Central Texas, Texas.gov, and the TWC Workforce Systems Project Team, along with countless others that had hands in this along the way:
The goal was simple: don’t change the way it works, just make it easier to use on a small screen, thereby making WorkInTexas.com a more relevant tool for the modern job seeker. And it seems to have hit its mark as we’ve had a lot of positive feedback about it over the last week.
Job seekers don’t have to do anything different from before, simply go to www.workintexas.com and the website will automatically serve up the version most appropriate for their screen size (mobile or regular). It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks and months how much job seeker access of the site changes (and we’ll be watching). Hopefully this is the first step of many in reinventing how we, the public workforce system, make our services more available to customers.
As always, we’d love to hear from you on this change or anything else related to WorkInTexas.com, so please have a look and let us know what you think.
Thanks for your continued support.
