Comment Policy

We encourage you to share your thoughts as they relate to the topic being discussed, but expect all comments to be courteous. The views expressed in comments reflect those of the commenter, not the official views of TWC.

We would like to publish your comments, but we also endeavor to maintain a commenting environment that is consistently topical, courteous, and respectful of all commenters. To that end, we have established the following policy. We reserve the right to not publish comments that:

  • Are off-topic or are only tenuously connected to the discussion topic;
  • Contain obscene, indecent or profane language;
  • Contain personal attacks, threats or defamatory statements;
  • Contain hate speech directed at race, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, ethnicity, age, religion, or disability;
  • Promote or endorse services or products (non-commercial links that are relevant to the topic or another comment are acceptable);
  • Contain personal information, including but not limited to, identification numbers, phone numbers and emails.

We also reserve the right not to publish:

  • Multiple, successive off-topic posts by a single user;
  • Repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users;
  • Spam or comments that are automated.

We recognize that the Internet is a 24/7 medium and your comments are welcome at any time. However, given the need to manage resources, we intend to review and post comments from 8:00 am – 5 pm ET Monday through Friday except for on federal holidays. We intend to review and post comments submitted at other times as soon as possible on the next business day.

Reporters are asked to submit questions through the TWC newsroom, rather than submitting questions here as comments.

Communications will in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to TWC or any official or employee of the department for any purpose.

To protect your privacy, do not include any information in your comment (e.g., your e-mail address or phone number) that could be used to identify you.

In some cases we ask you to provide your name and e-mail address, although providing either is optional. We request your name to make it easier to carry on a conversation. For this reason, we publish your name along with your comment. We ask for your e-mail address so that we can contact you if necessary. It is our policy not to publish your e-mail address.

You may also want to read our privacy and security statement to learn more about how we protect your privacy and personal information.
